Transportation

fitz_019aThis was one of the first buildings in New Plymouth.  This was located on Elm Street, between Rev. Knight’s house and the Creasey Building.  Elm Street was the main road entering New Plymouth, from the West, before Highway 30 was completed. There was only one bridge over the Noble Canal and the road went from Ada Street, across Highway 30 and along the West Boulevard to the Dotson house and turned East, past the Catholic Church to the intersection. The Road coming from Caldwell was just a dirt trail, according to some of the old timers.
