Acting Postmaster Fitzsimons Takes Oath of Office Nov. 16, 1967
Charles Fitzsimons received the oath of office as acting post-master of New Plymouth Post Office on Thursday, Nov. 16, from postal inspector Lowell Love of Boise.
Fitzsimons was employed by the postal department in October 1945 as postal clerk and in March 1967 he became a rural carrier. He has lived in New Plymouth since March 1935.
Prior to his postal work, he served with the U.S. Army from October 1940 to June 1945.
Fitzsimons and his wife, Janie, have three children, Ricky, who is stationed with the U.S Army in Palmdale, Calif., and Susie and Chuckie at home. Mrs. Fitzsimons is employed at New Plymouth Groceteria.
He replaces J.C. Newman who retired because of ill-health last month.
Note: Charles retired in January 1977, after 30 years of service.
